MaryAnn (Bloemke) McGillivray, 73, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at her home.
MaryAnn was raised in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She lived in Eveleth and Mt. Iron, Minnesota, St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin and Buffalo, Minnesota before retiring to Anderson, South Carolina.
MaryAnn was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Memories of her quick wit, crazy costumes, entertaining stories, and especially her contagious laughter will continue to bring about smiles in the minds of all her family and friends. Her faith, generosity, and thoughtfulness touched the lives of many throughout her lifetime. She loved music, dancing, animals, cooking, baking, babies, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Kelly Downs (Mt. Iron, MN); brothers Jim Bloemke (LeRoy, IL), Wayne (Lois) Bloemke (St. Claire, MN), Ron Bloemke (Franklin, MN); stepchildren Todd (Wanda) McGillivray, Mark (Sherri) McGillivray, Melissa (Joel) Scheving, Carissa (John) Golden, many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. MaryAnn was preceded in death by parents Henry and Mable Bloemke, brother Eugene, sister Donna Gramentz, and daughter Janine (Scott) Moore.
A memorial dinner will be held on Monday, May 22 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm with a Pacesetters 50’s-themed dance to follow at Woodmen of the World located at 102 Northwest Drive in Anderson. Because MaryAnn loved costumes and being goofy in general, we ask that everyone wear a silly hat or 50’s attire in her honor.
Memorials may be made to the Anderson County Humane Society, 407 Pearman Dairy Road, Anderson SC 29626 or Shalom House Ministries 349 Blake Dairy Rd, Belton, SC 29627.
