Kenneth Dale Harvey, 76, of Townville, SC passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Greenville SC, May 31, 1949, he was the son of Dartha Harvey and the late Rev. Lloyd Harvey and the husband to his beloved wife, the late Carmella Harvey. Dale was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, and a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

Dale always loved seeing people happy and did whatever it took to get people to smile or laugh.  He went above and beyond his duties of his title as grandpa.  His wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends always knew how much they were loved by Dale; he showed them that love regularly.  He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, boating, attending church, and cheering on his Clemson Tigers.

He is survived by his mother: Dartha Harvey; sons: Chadwick Harvey (Jennifer) and Timothy Harvey; grandchildren: Austin and Payton Harvey, and a nephew: Shawn Coley.

In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a sister: Sandra Coley.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Oakdale Baptist Church, 6724 Hwy 24, Townville, SC 29689, with Pastor Tim Marcengill officiating. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Rites. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Oakdale Vietnam Vets.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the church from 9:30am- 11am.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

    My heartfelt condolences to Dale’s family. I was glad I got to see him shortly before his passing. It was so good to visit with him, to be able to share some memories, and to have many good laughs while we talked about old times.
