Phillis Mabel Campbell, 83, of Abbeville County, SC, passed away on September 17, 2025, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Washington, DC on February 3, 1942; she was the daughter of the late David Ira and Dorothy Geaman Brown. Phillis was a very strong-willed, independent and adventurous lady who enjoyed skydiving. She loved nature and animals but loved her family the most. She was a very Godly woman who loved her church.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her including her husband of 40 years, James Franklin Campbell; her children: Debbie Deanda, Louis Lara (Angelique), Leanna Permar (Jonathan), Catherine Cade (Chris), Willie Moss, and Christopher Campbell; her siblings: David Brown and Linda Kucharski; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by two brothers: Ira and Charlie Brown.
Services will be held at 3pm on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Little River Baptist Church, 2847 Keowee Road, Honea Path, SC. Pastor Garret Hart will officiate along with family friends – Sue Nolan and Billy Manning. A private burial will follow.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday at the church from 2pm – 3pm.
