It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and friend, Janet M. Hunsinger. Surrounded by love, she left this world on Sunday, December 28, 2025, having touched countless lives with her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Melvin Hunsinger, who stood by her side through every season of life.
She was the proud mother of seven children: Shawn Bryant (Angel Bryant), Shannon Bryant, Heather Bryant (James McConnell), TJ Bryant, Ryan Bryant, Linda Hunsinger, and Sherri Sherrell. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren and 17 great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
She now joins in eternal rest her mother Barbara Smith, father Harold A. Hooper, brother Harold A. Hooper Jr., and stepfather Junior L. Smith. Their reunion brings comfort to those she leaves behind.
She dedicated many years of her life to caring for others through her work at NHC and No Place Like Home, where she was known for her compassion, patience, and gentle spirit. Her commitment to helping others was not just a career—it was a reflection of who she was at her core.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, January 8, 2025 at Sosebee Mortuary, 3219 South Main St Ext, Anderson, SC, 29624, and will be officiated by Rev. Ed Hunsinger. Interment will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 from 11:30 to 1pm, prior to the service, at the mortuary.
