Max Findley Bowen October 23, 1960 - February 26, 2026

Max Findley Bowen, Jr. 65, of Bowen Farms, Starr, SC, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson, SC.

Born on October 23, 1960 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Max F. Bowen Sr. and Edna Dawn Bowen. Findley loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked as a commercial plumber.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years: Wanda Bowen. He is survived by his brothers: Sammy K. Bowen (Vickie A.) of Starr and William M. Bowen (Shauna L.) of Pendleton; brother-in-law: Tony Hester (Debbie) of West Union; Nephew: Ryan Hester (Ketki) of Roswell; Nieces: Erika K. Goines of Panama City and Lesley Forrest (Bobby) of Saluda; great-nieces: Dawn K. Goines, Adalyn Forrest, Nora Hester, and Eva Hester; and great-nephew: Wyatt Forrest.

Findley also had a close friend, Pam Roper and his beloved dog, Sweetie.

A funeral service will be held at Freedom Center South, 3235 D L Dr., Anderson, SC 29642, on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Phil officiating. Inurnment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Center South, 3235 D L, Anderson, SC 29624.

The family will be at their respective homes.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
