Connie Sue Smith January 3, 1954 - May 8, 2026

Connie Sue Smith, 72, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family in her home in Greenwood SC, on Friday, May 8, 2026.

She was born on January 3, 1954, in Anderson, SC to the late Albert Smith and Mary Reed. Connie worked as a CNA. Through her entire life she worked in Nursing homes and Private Care, took care of family, friends and neighbors in anyway she could be of service to someone else. She was always there.

She is survived by her children: Michael Vaughn(Tonya), David Vaughn. Melissa Denton (Chris); grandchildren: Casey, Denna, Shawn, Bradley, Katie, Kara, DJ; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Diane Dyar, and Kay Campbell (Dean).

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother: Albert Smith Jr; sisters: Frances, Sybel and Etrulia, as well as her grandson: Michael Vaughn Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at New Journey Church, 330 Deadfall Rd, Greenwood SC.

The family will be at their respective homes.

Connie will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
