SFC Roger D. Cook August 28, 1949 - May 11, 2026

Roger D. Cook Sr, 79, of Starr, SC, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Born on August 28, 1946, in Bellaire, OH, he was the son of the late Arthur and Audrey Cook and husband to Mary “Ginger” Cook. Roger was a retired Veteran of the US Army, retiring as an E7 Combat Engineer. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, having been awarded four Bronze Stars with V device for Valor.

In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by his Children: Lori Dutton, Rhonda Hall (Brandon), Roger Cook Jr., and David Cook; Brother: John Cook; Sisters: Rosie Ferguson and Kathy Roush; as well as six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his Sisters: Phylis Broyls and Melissa Crukshank.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Sosebee Mortuary Chapel, 3219 South Main St, Anderson SC, 29624, with full Military Honors.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
