Ray Joseph Clardy Jr., “Jody,” passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 55. Born in Anderson on December 1, 1970, Jody spent his life loving his family, helping others, and making people laugh along the way.
Jody worked as a paramedic for many years, a job that fit who he was, always willing to help anyone who needed him. He had a big heart, a strong personality, and the kind of presence people won’t forget. He especially loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, where he found peace and made many memories with family and friends.
More than anything, Jody loved his family. He leaves behind his children, Joseph Walker Clardy, Madelyne Franklin (Chase), Emma Clardy, and Anna Lee Clardy; his grandchildren, Sadie Wren Franklin and Colton Chase Franklin; his sister, Cindy Martin; and his parents, Ray and Joyce Clardy.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
A graveside service will be held on May 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Belton, South Carolina, with Minister Joey Mitchell officiating.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family.

May 18, 2026 at 1:43 pmMy thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and children. Jody had just been at our house the day before, never thought it would be the last time we seen him. Allie I pray for you in the days and months to come, losing a spouse by death is something I know all to well and I cant say it gets any easier but cling to your faith and God will give you strength.
Until we meet again ole friend…….may your memory never be forgotten.

May 19, 2026 at 10:01 amAs some people journey through life, they leave footprints wherever they go-
footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration, joy and faith. Even when they’re gone, we can still look back
and clearly see the trail they left behind – a trail bright with hope that invites us to follow.
Jody was such a kind & wonderful person to work with during our EMS years.
Tommy and I feel the sadness in our hearts.
