We can provide our customers with the goods and services shown during your funeral or mortuary service. You may choose only those items you desire; however, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for basic services and overhead.
If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods you selected.
GENERAL PRICES
Basic Services of Funeral Director Staff and Overhead |

Our professional service charge includes but is not limited to conducting the arrangement conference; planning the funeral; consulting with the family and or clergy; shelter of remains; preparing and filing necessary notices; obtaining necessary authorizations and permits; coordination with the cemetery, crematory, or other third parties. In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremation, immediate burials, and forwarding and receiving remains.)
There will be a minimum Basic Charge for the funeral director, and staff of $375.00
Embalming |

Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want to embalm, you usually have the right to choose arrangements that do not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

** The cost of running an obituary is solely based on the charges of the newspaper chosen by the deceased’s family. We do not markup obituary charges. Obituary charges must be satisfied prior to run the obituary in the newspaper of choice. In addition, the obituary must be approved by the legal next of kin or the responsible person. This information is also placed on the Mortuary website at no additional cost. An obituary placed on the Mortuary website only and not run in a newspaper has a charge of $40.00.

This charge includes necessary services of staff, permits and authorizations, cremation container, removal within Anderson County, SC, 1 copy of the SC Death Certificate for the crematory. Removal outside Anderson County, SC, is an additional $275.00. If you wish to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition matter (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are made of fiberboard or cardboard. Includes one transfer of cremains for an urn not purchased from the mortuary with a signed release. IMMEDIATE BURIAL

Payment of Funeral Charges
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory must satisfy all charges regarding the funeral or cremation to our suppliers at the time of need for goods and services; therefore funeral charges must be resolved at the time of arrangements. Method of Payments acceptable: Insurance Assignment with a validated insurance policy (contestable policies not accepted), Established Preneed Account, Cash and or Check, Debit or Credit Cards (Visa MasterCard, Discover) (3% will be added on for this method to cover fees). Any combination of the above can be applied to satisfy the funeral bill. Any past due balances over 30 days, a $25 weekly late fee will be added to the balance owed as stated on the Statement of Goods and Services.
