Andrew Joseph Maney May 29, 2000 - May 20, 2026

Andrew Joseph “AJ” Maney, of Honea Path, South Carolina, passed away on May 20, 2026, just days before his 26th birthday.

Andrew was born on May 29, 2000, in Galati, Romania. He was joyfully welcomed into his family through adoption—by his mother, the late Linda Maney, in 2001, and by his father, William “Billy” Maney, in 2007. In celebration of their family bond, they established a cherished yearly tradition known as “Maney Day.” On August 22, 2010, Andrew made the most important decision of his life when he was born again as a Christian.

He was homeschooled and graduated from Linda C. Maney Memorial School. Andrew had a wide range of interests and talents. He enjoyed skateboarding and camping, especially trips with his father to Old Man’s Cave in Hocking Hills, Ohio. He had a deep love for learning, including a passion for studying new languages. Exceptionally creative, Andrew expressed himself through music and poetry, demonstrating a remarkable artistic gift. He also achieved the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo.

Andrew treasured his relationships with family. He especially enjoyed long, meaningful conversations with his step-brother Davis, often centered on Bible study and faith.

He is survived by his father, William “Billy” Maney; his step-mother, Judy Maney; his brothers, Greg (Ashley) Maney and Geoffrey (Amanda) Maney; and his step-brothers, Eric, Justin, and Davis Turner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Maney.

A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 2603 Due West Highway, Belton, South Carolina 29627, officiated by Pastor Mark Krieger. Visitation will be following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ.org) or to Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.

The family is being assisted by Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory.
