Ralph Clarence Turman Jr, 78, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
Born in Elberton, GA, he was the son of the late Ralph and Eula Turman. Ralph worked in the Granite Industry as a sandblaster, designer and engraver of tombstones. Ralph loved the Lord and had a passion for sharing the Gospel as well as spent time as a pianist and vocalist in the gospel group – Sounds of Liberty. While his hobbies included many things – playing the guitar, being a Ford enthusiast, running, watching Nascar and baseball – he could always be heard cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
In addition to his wife, Patricia Turman of 37 years, he is also survived by his children: Angela and Julie Turman of Elberton, GA; children at heart: Joey Richardson (Deanna), Sumer Richardson Vaughn (Chris), and Eric Richardson (Kacie) of Anderson, SC; sister, Mary Chastain (Ward); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by a sister, Dot Jean Scarborough.
A chapel service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary with Pastor Greg Jordan and Pastor Walter Mills officiating. A private burial will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery, Elberton, GA.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday at the Mortuary from 1pm-2pm.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
