Bruce Wayne “Batman” Wheeler, 75, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his residence.
Born on April 18, 1951, in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Ronald Wheeler Sr. and Catherine Judson Barber. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was known for his humor, quick wit, and love of joking with others. Bruce also sang in the choir at Parkwood Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, camping, and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Wheeler; his daughter: Becky Moses; step-son: James Hook; step-daughter: Angel Cross; sister: Karen Van-Houhter; grandchildren: Mikayla, Emily, Rachel and Matthew Moses, Kayla, Morgan and Lexie Cross; great-grandchild: Skylar Moses; aunt: Lois Barber; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son: Bernard Wheeler; brothers: Jimmy Van-Houhter, Floyd Van-Houhter and Ronnie Wheeler; sisters: Diane Barber and Sheila Wheeler.
A Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
The family will be at their respective homes.
