Mallie Louise Stover April 9, 2026

Mallie Louise Stover, 79, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2026.

She was born on July 23, 1946, in Anderson, South Carolina, to Eleanor Arnold Nichols and Roy Dagnall Nichols, and spent her life rooted in the Anderson community she loved so deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Betty Jean Collins, Melvin Ray Nichols, Evelyn Dooley, and Teresa Phillips; her husband Harold Englerth and beloved son Robert Lee (Buddy) Englerth.

Mallie is survived by her adoring husband of the home, Charles Thomas Stover, who cherished her dearly as she cherished him; her children, Tracy Marlene Driver, Clarence Gary Driver Jr., and Kelli Englerth Cason; her grandchildren, Robyn Nichole McCoy (Jordan), George Roberts, Anna Roberts, Joy Driver, Christopher Driver, Robbie Baddley, Johnny Baddley, Madison Ashley (Preston), and Bryce Cason (Megan); and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jayden, Natalie, Garreth, Lincoln, Alice, Marlie, Owen, Jacie Mae, and Jaylee. She is also remembered with love by her bonus children, Chuck Stover (Helena) and Bill Stover (Crystal), and many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own. She was grateful for her niece Betty Ann, who talked her through some of her hardest days.

Mallie was known for her joy of cooking. If you sat at her table, you didn’t leave hungry—and you didn’t leave without feeling loved. Whether at home or working at Anderson Country Club or Saluda Valley, she made sure people were fed in more ways than one. She enjoyed life in simple, meaningful ways. She loved time with family, a good story, playing cards, and traveling from the beaches to the mountains, but Anderson was always her home.

Mallie’s life was full of love, strength, and care for others. The stories she told, the meals she shared, and the way she made people feel will stay with her family always. They find comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will carry on for generations to come.
