Alta Faye Cooper Vanadore, 67, of Anderson SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Greenville SC, on October 11, 1955; she was the daughter of the late Samuel Taylor Cooper and Vester Louise Holcombe. Alta was an active member of the House of Prayer for many years, she loved to feed people and helped with many food ministries, often giving food out from her home. She loved to get out, meet people and testify about Jesus and loved to go fishing. Alta became disabled at a young age; she previously had worked as a security officer.

She is survived by her children: Dwain Vanadore (Julie) of Pendleton, Tina Shaver (Jody) of Starr, Angela Vanadore (David) of Anderson and a Brother-in-Law, Keith Vanadore who was like a son to her; 6 grandchildren: Brittany, Haley, Hannah, Ashley, Kathrine, and Thomas; 4 great-grandchildren: Michael, Chale, Jordyn, and Aubrianna; she also leaves behind many friends and family that will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years: Douglas “Donnie” Vanadore; a brother: Jerry Cooper; 2 sisters: Nina Sue McClain and Joan Davis.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at The House of Prayer, 1221 Good Hope Church Road, Starr SC. Internment will follow the service at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at The House of Prayer from 12pm to 2pm.

The family will be at Alta’s home.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
