Brenda Butts Hill July 22, 1944 - September 22, 2026

Brenda Butts Hill, 82, of Anderson, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Brenda was a devoted woman of faith who deeply loved her family and friends. She was a member of Andersonville Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She will be remembered for her love for others, her gift for storytelling, and the many special memories she created with those around her.

An avid reader and storyteller, Brenda enjoyed sharing stories and spending time with the people she loved. She also had a passion for cooking and baking and especially enjoyed sharing her favorite recipes with family and friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rudolph Hill; her parents, Lem and Mae Butts; her brother, Robert Lem “R.L.” Butts; and her three children, Patricia Lee, Larry Hill, and Tracy Canupp.

She is survived by her siblings, Gene Butts (Wilma) and Effie Bolt of Westminster, South Carolina, and Sharon Wheeler (James) and Glenda Heaton (Robert) of Anderson, South Carolina; and her sister-in-law, Susan Wall of Seneca, South Carolina.

She is also survived by her stepchildren, Sandy Broome and Melvin Hill; daughter-in-law, Denise Hill; grandson, Nathan Harrison (Kaci); granddaughter, Amy Nicole Hill; great-grandchildren, Chasity Harrison and Braylee Harrison; great-great-grandchildren, Ariyah Harrison and Kailee Ricketts, all of Anderson.

Brenda’s life was marked by her devotion to the Lord, her love for her family and friends, and the joy she found in the simple things—sharing a good story, reading a book, preparing a favorite dish, or passing along a treasured recipe. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the stories and traditions she leaves behind.

A memorial service celebrating Brenda’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Andersonville Baptist Church, 6902 Dobbins Bridge Road, Anderson, SC 29626.

Brenda will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but they find comfort in knowing that she is now at home with the Lord.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
