Carol Carnes Schrimp, 71, of Anderson SC, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on September 20, 1951, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Beatrice Vaughn Carnes.
Carol was an RN at AnMed Health Medical Center Newborn Nursery for 15 years, an avid bowler in the Senior Leagues, and was known as “The Cake Lady” for baking delicious desserts each month. She also loved spending time with her grandkids, cooking, sewing, and taking care of her pets. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years William “Bill” Schrimp; children: Angela Atkins, Crystal Brown, Hal Hunsinger (Sue), Wesley Schrimp (Tara), Amber Shaw, and Brittany Schrimp; 10 grandchildren and a special first cousin, Roger Carnes.
A funeral service will be held on, Friday, May 19, 2023, at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel at 2:30pm with Pastor Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the South Chapel, from 1pm to 2:30pm.
The family will be at their respective homes.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
