Charlene Alice Legace Jacobsen Carpenter, 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
She was born on March 24, 1938, to the late James and Marie (DeLong) Legace in Old Town, Maine. She married the late Norman Jacobsen on June 7, 1958, and they settled in Hampden, Maine. Charlene was a proud member of the pediatrics unit at EMMC in Bangor, Maine. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, and the Game of Trouble.
She is survived by her daughters: Pamela Jacobsen (Keith Sawyer), and Holly Harris (David), both of Anderson SC; grandchildren: Erika Jacobsen (Joey Cabaniss) of Anderson SC, Amanda Vonborstel (Caleb Washburn) of Anderson SC, Stephen Vonborstel (Sara Culclasure) of Anderson SC, Wyatt Salsbury of Maine, Athena VonBorstel (Aaron Worden) of Florida, and Tiffany VonBorstel of Florida; and great-grandchildren: Mason and Baylee, Malakai, Maddox, Kairi, and Joshua.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she is predeceased by her sisters: Rose Bailey, Yvonne Norbut, and Marguerite Adams; brother: Roger Legace; as well as her partner of 20 years: Joseph Carpenter.
Internment will take place at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Hampden, Maine.
