Charles D. Whitlow – aka Sonny, Bubba, Slim, Bird Man – 76, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015.
Charles was born in Memphis, TN on July 19, 1939 to the late Charles F. Whitlow and Elnora Grainger. Charles loved fishing and will be telling tall tales in heaven for eternity!
Charles is survived by his wife, Vicky Lowe Whitlow; mother-in-law Esther Lowe; two sisters: Brenda “Pug” McGregor and Charlene “Sissy” Mason and her husband Bill; as well as two daughters: Nora Hooper and husband Derek and Pam Freeman and husband Robert; and five grandchildren: Ashley Burke and husband Walter, Ryan Garrison, Alyssa Montanez and husband Eloy, Jessica Garrison, Grant Freeman and wife Jordan, and their families, including eight great grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind countless friends who were his extended family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4th, 2015 at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 am. Celebration of life to follow.
