Charles Porter Hubbard, 93, of Anderson, SC passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Dominion Senior Living of Anderson.
Born on July 2, 1926 in Grundy Center, Iowa he was the son of the late Charles Oscar and Lois Ana Porter Hubbard and the husband to the late Ruth Stanfill Hubbard. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was also a mathematician and pioneer in the computer and space industry, a private pilot and restorer of vintage mustangs.
He is survived by his son: Jeffery Hubbard; daughters: Joyce Buchanan and Judy Hubbard; sister: Joan Mulcahy; grandchildren: Rebecca McKee, Charles Buchanan Jr, Steven Stewart, Brian Stewart, Elizabeth Meacham, and Charles (Sonny) Hubbard; great grandchildren: Jacob McKee, Matthew McKee, Garrett Bragg, and Kinley Bragg; and brother-in-law: Robert Hewett.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his daughter: Marjorie Stewart; sisters: Marjorie Werk, Helen Hasselbacher, and Jean Hewett; and grandson: Curtis Hubbard.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel and will be officiated by Chaplain Deon Lowe.

The family will be at the home of his daughter: Joyce Buchanan.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
