Clyde Marion Caldwell February 5, 1939 - February 23, 2025

Clyde M. Caldwell, ‘Snag’, 86, of Starr, SC, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his children.
Born in Williamston, SC on February 5, 1939; he was the son of the late Alph Caldwell, Sr. and Julia Mae Bishop Caldwell. He was married to the late Catherine Davis Caldwell for 25 years. Snag was a retired loom fixer, textile consultant for Tri County Tech, and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: James A. Davis (Edna) and Carolyn Davis Dunbar (Bobby); sister, Sybil Pierce (Allen); grandchildren: Matthew Evans (Paula) and Jay Evans (Toni); great grandson, Will Lander Evans; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is also predeceased by his siblings: Alp Calwell, Jr., J.R. Caldwell, Ed Caldwell, Ann Caldwell, Etruila Burdette, and Lucy Perry.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Sosebee Mortuary at 12 noon officiated by Pastor Sam Duncan. A private burial will take place at Garden of Memories, Belton, SC.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday at the Mortuary from 11am – 12pm.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
