Douglas “Doug” Hanks, 81, of Iva SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at his residence.
Born on October 29, 1941 in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Chester Charlie and Dorris Turner Hanks. Doug loved “wheeling and dealing’, he could take a dollar out of his pocket and put a hundred back in.
He is survived by his wife: Diane Hanks; daughter: Renea Hanks; sisters: Patsy Mize and Judy Hanks; grandchildren: Kasey Hoey (Brian), Stephen Hanks (Stephanie)and great-grandchildren: Kyson Hoey, Addison and Dawson Hanks.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son: Ray Hanks; brothers: Jerry and Jamie Hanks and his sister: Debra Moore.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel from 3pm to 5pm.
The family will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to the family at PO Box 711, Iva SC 29655.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
