Lawrence Douglas Lamar Martin, 63, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.
Lamar served in the United States Army, Navy, and Reserves for 12 years. He was a member of Crosshills Church of God. He is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Betty Martin, and sister, Linda Black.
Lamar is survived by his wife, Nellie Martin, children Susan Carter (Steve Capell), Josh Martin (Ola Martin), Brandy Strickland (Wesley Strickland), Crystal Martin, Doug Martin, and Dusty Martin, siblings: Becky Burrell, Brenda Harris, Freda Pearson, and Wayne Martin; 19 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 6 from 3-5 at the Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel: 3219 South Main Street Ext. Anderson, SC 29624.
The funeral, officiated by Reverend John Christmas and Reverend Tillman Black, will be held on Monday, December 7 at 1:00 at Crosshills Church of God: 1703 Hwy 252 Belton, SC 29627. The burial will follow at the M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
