Eula Maye Gibby Bennett, 83, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at her home.
Born in Eastanollee, Ga on December 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Macy Kay Gibby. She was the wife to the late Hoyt Ray Bennett, retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass and was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed family, camping, travel and cooking.
She is survived by her son, Tony Bennett; brother, Elgan Gibby (wife Reba), of Toccoa, Ga; grandchildren: Kristal Bray (Stan) and Matthew Merck (Charley) and Brooklyn and Caitlyn Sullivan; great-grandchildren: Reagan Bray, Bailey and Jackson Merck, Dexter and Derrick Masters.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she is predeceased by a daughter, Loretta Merck, and sisters: Ila Isbell, Edna Stowe, Velma Franklin, Sara Ayers, Agnes Floyd, Hazel and Faye Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 2pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the South Chapel from 12:30pm to 2pm, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
