Evelyn Lowe Hughes, 88, of Anderson, SC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 22, 2015 at NHC Health Care in Anderson, SC.
Born on July 25, 1926 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Virgie Lowe and wife to the late C. Bryant Hughes. She was also a lifelong Baptist and member of the Second Baptist Church in Belton, SC.
Evelyn was the devoted Matriarch of the family and worked for nearly 60 years as a bookkeeper for Chevrolet.
She is survived by her twin sons: Ronnie (Ann) and Donnie (Nancy) Hughes; brother: Johnny Lowe (Becky); Sisters: Judy Kelly (Glenn) and Jane Marshall (Randy); grandchildren: Amanda Hughes and her family Leesa Bond and Dana Ison, Blake Hughes, Stacey (Jamie) Fontenot, Major Jimmie (Claire) Hughes, Sonya (Cory) Dunn and Tonya (Jon) Camp; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Bobby Lowe and Marshall Lowe.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday March 25, 2015 at the New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm prior to the service Wednesday at the Sosebee Mortuary Downtown Chapel.
The family will be at her home.
