Frances Iris Jones, 81, of Belton, SC, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home.
Born in Anderson, SC, on June 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John William Turpin and Rosa Lee Harris Turpin Bonds and the wife to the late James Lewis Jones. While she enjoyed her time working at Woolworth’s, she was also a devout homemaker and caregiver.
She is survived by her children: Charles D. “Buck” Jones (Diane), Patsy Putnam (Conrad), and Letitia Wells; daughter-in-law: Marion Jones; brothers: Pete Turpin (Marge), Bobby Turpin (Geraldine), Jerry Turpin (Barbara Ann); sisters: Judy Williams, Joyce Townes, Diane Ange, Jenny Townes (Steve); brother in law: Floyd New; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son: James Donald Jones; sisters: Willie New and Lucille Ashley, and her brothers-in-law: Franklin Williams and Lamar Ashley.
Funeral services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 4pm Rev Danny Keen A private burial will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the Mortuary from 3pm to 4pm.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
