Frances Brown Stamps, 89, of Anderson, SC passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 peacefully at her home.
Born on July 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wilton Eugene Brown and Bessie Phillips Brown and the wife of 52 years to the late Harold Lloyd Stamps. She worked in textiles, was a cook and waitress in many different restaurants, as well as owning her own restaurant. Frances was a member of Starr Church of God of Prophecy and most recently attended Freedom Baptist Ministries, which is pastored by her grandson. Frances was also the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by children: Barbara Vickery, Jacky Stamps (Brenda), Rodger Stamps, all of Anderson, and Jerry Stamps (Sandra) of Iva; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by son: Dennis Stamps; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 2pm at Sosebee Mortuary, Downtown Chapel and will be officiated by Reverend Tony Tilley and Reverend Leland Pitts. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30pm – 2pm at the Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow the service at New Silverbrook Cemetery.
