Garrett Eligah Yates, 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on November 19, 1924 in Anderson, SC; he was the son of the late Edward Augustus and Mary Turner Yates. He was married to the late Margaret Ellen Yates and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
He is survived by his children: Judy Sebesta (Fred) and Gerry Yates (Betty); brother, Fred Yates (Betty); and numerous grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and spouse, he is also predeceased by a son, Thomas Edward Yates; and a daughter Debra Yates Black.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Varennes Heights Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Kirt Mitchell at 2pm. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel, from 6pm – 7:30pm.
