George Wallace Payne, ‘PawPaw’, 73, of Iva, SC, husband of Sara ‘Bea’ Clinkscales Payne, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at his home.
Born in Lowndesville, SC; he was the son of the late of Herbert and Frances Alexander Payne and a Veteran of the US Army. Wallace retired from Frigidaire; however, he spent most of his working career in textiles with Jackson Mill and Mayfair Mill. He was a member and former Deacon at Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife of 48 years; sons Wally Payne, Mike Payne (Penny), Chad Payne (Julie); grandchildren Ashley Price (Kevin), Nick, Allie, Eric, Bella, and Breydan Payne; great-grandchild Kenzie Price; brother Bob Payne and sister Judy Head (Chuck).
In addition to his parents; he is predeceased by brothers Charles, Frank, and Jack Payne.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 3pm at Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Rev. Billy Pinson and Rev. Ricky Bledsoe. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel, is assisting the family.
