Gerald Thomas Cleveland, 94, of Anderson, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday January 7, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was the husband of Nancy Delane Melton Cleveland. Gerald proudly served his country during World War 2 as a radio operator with the US Army and was Anderson County’s last survivor of Pearl Harbor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Tommy Cleveland; daughters: Cynthia Upham (Garry), Wendy Roper (Bobby); brothers: Palmer and Garland Cleveland; sister: Emmie Liddy; as well as three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1pm Friday January 13, 2017 at Word Tabernacle Church with Rev. Gene Williams, Rev. Joe Greene and Rev. Luther Dishman officiating. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 12pm to 1pm.

The family will be at the home.
