Jerry Scala, 91, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home.
He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served during WWII in the Pacific on the USS Algol. After serving in WWII, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Philadelphia Textile Institute. He then continued working in the textile industry for many years.
He is survived by his children: Joanne Kirven and Melissa Croft (Tim); grandchildren: Christopher Jenkins, Seth Lowie, Sean Kirven, and Lauren Kurz; great-grandchildren: Michael Jenkins and John-Alexander Kurz; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 11 siblings; his wife Carol; and his daughter Jennifer.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
The family will be at their respective homes and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
