Harrison G. Ayers, 92, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on March 25, 1932, in Hartwell, Ga.; he was the son of the late Ansel Kay Ayers and Nana Mae Osborne Smith. He was married to Tammie Renee Ayers. Harrison was a hard-working man who at 13 joined the military; he re-enlisted in 1954, completing an additional six years and achieving the rank of Sergeant E-5 and also spent many years as a military policeman. He always knew what he wanted to do, he owned his own heating and air company called Ayers and Sons. He loved his family, scratching lottery tickets under a shade tree and man, did he love salt! He was always known to have a saltshaker everywhere he went.
In addition to his wife, he was also survived by his children: Pat Ayers (Amy), Samantha Ayers, Dallas Ayers, Dawn Ayers, and Kevin Ayers; daughter and son at heart Melodi Kim and Mason Ayers; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by a daughter: Melody Mitchum; son: Larry Ayers and his siblings: Mickey, Pat, and Peggy Ayers.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 12:30pm officiated by Pastor Sam Duncan at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors by the Campbell Patriot Guard.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday at the Mortuary from 11:30am to 12:30pm.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Samantha Ayers.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
