Henry Harvey Barnett, 88, of Anderson SC, passed away at his home on Friday, March 6, 2026.
He was born on May 3, 1937, to the late Henry Arthur and Minnie Evelyn Cook Barnett. Henry was a graduate of Parker High School in Greenville, SC. Shortly after graduation, he married Ida Jean Stowe Barnett, and together they would have celebrated their 71st anniversary, on March 28.
Henry was a skilled master plumber by trade, with a business specializing in commercial plumbing for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He was also a Master Mason and Shriner, member of Lodge 238, Iva, and past President of Abbeville County Shrine Club. He was a member of Iva First Baptist Church and loved his church family.
Through the years, one might come across one of his handwritten, short, funny, rhyming, poetic stories about his life experiences. What he loved even more than anything, was his family. He was the heart and soul of his family as a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Jean Stowe Barnett; sons: Tony Barnett (Angie), and Lee Barnett (Lisa); grandchildren: Lauren Rice (Sterling, Chance, and Cady) and Anthony Barnett (Amanda, Caden, Chloe and Charlee).
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Iva First Baptist Church at 2pm officiated by Pastors Mike McMinn and Jerry Gray. Burial will follow at Iva City Cemetery.
The family is gathered at the home and will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday at the church from 1pm – 2pm.
