Henry Melvin Scott, 77, of Anderson SC, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at his home.
Born in Greer, SC, he was the son of the late HB Scott and Velma Bentley Scott. He retired from Bilo and Lowes.
Henry served in the US Army during the Vietnam war for his acts of valor he was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with “V’ Device and the Bronze Star.
He is survived by a brother-in-law: Fred Edmunds; nephew: Benny Powers (Mary), Mark Powers (Lisa), Mark Edmunds (Sherry) and Frankie Edmunds; 5 great nephews and nieces and 9 great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Linda S. Edmunds and Loretta Scott.
A graveside service will be held at MJ Dolly Veteran Cemetery on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 1pm.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

I knew. Henry from Lowes. We worked together and enjoyed playing backgammon and Yahtzee. It was great knowing him. A lot of good times. My sympathies to the family. God bless you all. Brian Callihan.
