James “Catfish” Baker, 70, of Anderson, SC passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his residence.
Born on August 20, 1945, he was the son of the late James and Ellen Baker of Whitmire, SC, and the husband to Marilyn Baker. James was an avid fisherman and a longtime volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House. James also served in the United States Army, Navy, and National Guard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son: Michael Brooks; daughter: Lorri Jennings; sisters: Shirley Adair, Debra Prather, and Lisa Knight; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and his beloved K9: Blondie.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2pm at Gethsemane Baptist Temple and will be officiated by Reverend Sam Duncan. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30pm – 2pm. Burial will follow the service at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Rites.
