James E. Cross, 87, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Ellenburg Nursing Center.
Born to the late John and Elvie Brewster Cross, he was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church and the retired former owner of Cross Volkswagen Service. James was also a Veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his children: James Dale Cross (Tammy), Janice Bauer (Terry), and Judy Hampton (Wayne); mother of his children: Bobbie S. Cross; sister: Mildred Cross Arnold; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers: Calvin C. Cross, George Clovis Cross, and George Cross; and sisters: Vera Evelyn Cross, Ruby Cross Rebard, Alma Bannister and Frances Cross Billings.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 1:30pm at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel officiated by Rev. Ed Hunsinger and Rev. Dale Cross. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held at the South Chapel, on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6pm – 8pm.
The family will be at the home of Bobbie Cross, 705 Martin Drive, Anderson, SC 29624.
