Janie R Baxter September 21, 1943 - November 9, 2024

Janie R. Baxter, 81, of Starr, SC, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Linley Park Post Acute.

Born on September 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William “Junior” and Vernell Meeks Kelly and the wife to the late Larry Gene Baxter for 62 years.

She is survived by her children: Brad Baxter (Donna), Brian Baxter (Amy) and Bruce Baxter (Tonia); brothers: Johnny Kelley (Peggy) and Steve Kelley (Mary Alice); grandchildren: Bailey, Garrett, Landon, Amber Faith, Lacy Marie, Emily Grace, and Jayson; great-grandchildren: Arleigh Jayne, Huxton and Billy, and her lifelong friend: Margaret Foster.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a sister: Shelby Jean Kelley Carver Pruitt.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel with Pastor Mike Harrell officiating. Burial will be held at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 2pm.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at the South Chapel on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm.

The family will be at their respective homes.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
