John W. Byrum Jr, 91 of Anderson SC, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at The Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Hartwell, Ga, on December 23, 1926, he was the son of the late John Waymon Byrum Sr and Effie Dora Carnes Byrum. He attended Orville Baptist Church and worked at Mount Vernon Mills in La France SC as a shop supervisor. John enjoyed welding, furniture making and helping others, he also ran an antique store and served in WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn McGuffin Byrum; son, Tony Bryum (Nancy); daughters, Beth Hughes (Calvin) and Susan Holley (Bill Wilt); grandchildren, Jennifer Warren (Nicole), Brandon Belk (Katrina), Matthew Byrum (Kristi), Anthony Holley Jr, Wendy Wilt, Bill Wilt Jr (Lindsey) and greatgrandchildren, Daniel Belk, Chloe Belk, Owen Byrum, Everett Byrum, Ellis Warren, Avery Warren, Ryan Reed, Alyssa Reed, Alex Wilt and Alyson Wilt.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Daniel Byrum.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel with Rev. Ron Fousek and Rev. TW McGuffin.
The family will be at the home.
