John H. Ray Sr, 79, of Belton, SC passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on October 19, 1939 he was the son of the late Jess and Fannie Foster Ray and the husband to the late Jo Ann Ray. John was a member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Community Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also served in the US Army.
He is survived by his children: John Ray Jr (Anne), Gregory Ray, Anthony Ray, Stanley Ray (Annette), Terry Ray (Eliza), and Tammy Fargis (Lester); and 40 grand, great-grand, and great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel and will be officiated by Bishop Jay Hardy, John Ray Jr, Stanley Ray and Pastor Brian Jennings. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation will be held from 6pm – 8pm on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at the South Chapel.
The family will be at the home.
