John S. Griffin December 16, 1946 - June 3, 2024

John S. Griffin, 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday June 3, 2024, at the Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.

Born on December 16, 1946, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Norman and Annie Lee Griffin and husband of Jane Jones Griffin. John also retired from BASF after over 30 years of employment. After his retirement, he worked part-time at Skip-J Range.

In addition to his Wife, John is survived by his Daughter: Tammy Maddox and her Spouse, Barry: Son: Bruce Griffin and his Spouse, Liz: Brother: Doug Griffin (Retha); Sister: Sandra Vickery (Russell); Grandchildren: Amanda Bolt (Kellie), Jonathan Bolt (Stephanie), Laura Hammond (Ben), Ben Maddox, David Maddox (Casey), Ellen Griffin (Madison), Kate Giovengo (Michael), Ashley Campbell (Scott), Brandon Koenig, and Justin Koenig; and Great-Grandchildren: Andy, Mateo, Maddox, Reeves, Sophie, Lucy, Lilia, Barrett, and Kennedy.

John is also preceded in death by his Son: Jeffrey Griffin; and Great-Granddaughter: Addie Grace Bolt.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday June 8, 2024, at Middleton Rd Baptist Church, 1705 Middleton Rd, Anderson, SC.

The family will be at the home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s name to Middleton Road Baptist Church or to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun St, Anderson, SC.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
