Joseph L. Nichols Jr, 80, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Richard Campbell’s Veterans Nursing Home.
Born in Anderson SC, on January 9, 1939, he as the son of the late Joseph L. Nichols Sr and Ellajay Black Nichols, the husband to the late Shirley Ann Dove Nichols, a Veteran of the US Navy and a member of Church of God.
He is survived by his sons: Tora Nichols (Wanda), Don Nichols (Nancy), and Raymond Nichols; daughter: Tonie McCormick (Henry); sister: Betty Joe Campbell and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his sisters: Martha Cleo “Bill” Gross, Francis Mize and Tonnie Carolyn Hammonds.
Funeral services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 1pm. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Central, SC.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel from 6pm to 8pm
The family will be at 140 Old Abbeville Hwy, Anderson SC 29624.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
