Kenneth M. Stanton, Sr., 52, of Pendleton, SC passed away in the Line of Duty on Sunday, February 15, 2015.  Kenny died as he lived, serving his community.

Born in Buffalo, NY, on July 25, 1962; he was the son of Patricia Ann and the late Michael Stanton, Sr. and married to Sheryl Brown Stanton.  He attended La France First Baptist Church.  He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp and a member of the Sandy Springs Fire Department where he was named the 2014 Firefighter of the Year.

In addition to his mother of Buffalo, NY and wife of the home; he is also survived by sons:  Kenneth M. Stanton, Jr. and Keifer Robert Stanton; brothers:  Joey Stanton, Sr., Charles Stanton, both of Buffalo, NY, Jimmy Cunningham of Springfield, Ohio and Bart Cunningham, of Urbana, Ohio; sisters:  Karen Wolff, Michelle Walsh, Robin Barber, Denise Mongiovi, all of Buffalo, NY, and Jayne Stanton, of SC; and mother-in-law Shirley ‘Mom’ Hix Brown.

In addition to his father; he is also predeceased by a brother Michael Stanton, Jr. and a sister Laurie Stanton Gilson.

Kenny will be open for public viewing at Sosebee Mortuary, Downtown Chapel, from 5pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 to 9am on Thursday, February 19, 2015.

Services will be held on Thursday at 12:30 pm at The Civic Center of Anderson.  Pastor Michael Neuse will be speaking at the service, as well as other members of the Fire Department community.

Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Last Call Rights and Military Honors.

Members of the Sandy Springs Fire Department and local fire departments will serve as Active and Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will be at the home and ask that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Sandy Springs Fire Department, Post Office Box 296, Sandy Springs, SC 29677.
