Larry G “ Flat” Baxter, 83, of Starr, SC passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on March 13, 1935 he was the son of the late Ira Sanford and Annie Ivester Baxter and the husband to Janie Baxter. He was retired from BASF and a Veteran of the US Air Force.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Brad (Donna), Brian (Amy) and Bruce (Tonia); brothers: Oland (Betty Jean) and Bobby( JoAn); grandchildren: Amber, Lacy(Jayson), Emily, Landon, Bailey Isom and Garrett Lozier.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers: Jimmy and Grady; sisters: Frances Smith, Billie Simpson and Alma Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Gethsemane Baptist Temple on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1:30pm with Rev. Sam Duncan and Rev. Mike Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
The family will be at home.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
