Laylon Martin Kay, 76, of 525 Newton Road, Mt. Carmel, SC, formerly of ‘H’ Street, Anderson, SC, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home.
Born on April 22, 1941; he was the son of the late Charles D. and Emma Carter Kay. He retired after 37 years from Owens Corning Fiberglass in Starr, SC and was a proud member of Local Union #15-GMP.
He is survived by his wife, Linda F. Standridge Kay; children: Linda Kay Hawkins (Randy), Brenda Kay Przybyla (Ron), Judy Kay Beck (Todd Davis), Donna Kay Brown, and Emma I. Kay; 7 grandchildren: Krystal Reece, Jennifer Hawkins, Haley Bordelon, Kimber Spado, Luke Bordelon, Kayla Spado, and Dominic Garcia; nephews: Darrow Kay, Roger Kay, and Jason Donald; and nieces: Sandy Cobb, Charlasa Merk, Jalane Slater, Gene Tinsley.
In addition to his parents; he is also predeceased by a son Laylon ‘Marty’ Kay; brothers: George, Clarence, and Moses Kay; and sister, Virginia K. Donald.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1pm at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel. Burial will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6pm – 8pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the Mortuary.
