Leila Sylvene Ramey, 88, of Starr, SC, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Condor Health and Rehab.
Born in Anderson SC on October 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Willie Albert and Mary Teasley Carnes. Sylvene was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple and retired from the textile industry. She loved her children and family without reservation.
She is survived by her children: Jimmy Ray Ramey (Norma Jean), Brenda Ramey, Linda Harper and Elaine Reese (David); brothers: Roger, Donald and Albert Carnes; sister: June Carnes; ten grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son: William Edward Ramey; sister: Judy Carnes and brothers: Dale Carnes and Vance Eugene Carnes.
A funeral service will be held at Gethsemane Baptist Temple on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 12pm with Pastor Sam Duncan officiating. A private internment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at Gethsemane Baptist Temple on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 11am to 12pm.
The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday,
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
