Lois Doyle McCoy, 81, of Starr, SC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Reverend John C Doyle and May C Doyle. After attending schools in Florida, she worked for the Tampa Public Library and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She moved to Starr, SC in 1968 and went to work for JC Penny. She then worked for Starr Elementary and retired after 27 years. Lois loved doing all kinds of crafts and was an avid quilter. She was a member of Prickly Fingers and the Electric City Quilters of Anderson. She loved camping and traveling across the US with her husband.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerry M. McCoy; son: Troy McCoy of Starr, SC; granddaughter: Kacie Reed of Greenville, SC; 2 great granddaughters of Greenville, SC; and sister: Carolyn Walden of Abilene, TX.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother: Reverend Daniel Doyle of Spring Hill, FL.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Iva City Cemetery and will be officiated by Reverend Sam Duncan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Upstate 1835 Rogers Road Anderson, SC 29621.
