Betty “Marie” Grindstaff, 43, of Lake Secession, SC, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
Born in Charlotte, NC on December 29, 1980, she was the daughter of Nancy Selina Cook and the late Randy “Bear” Payton. Marie had a personality that you could only love, and she would return all that love. She had a special passion and care for animals.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband: Roy Grindstaff; step-son: Chris Grindstaff; step-daughters: Wendy Bridges and Tonya Sanders; brother: Lane Smith (Alyssa) sisters: Dawn Phillips and Selena Smith (Josh); step-grandchildren: Jordan, Jesse, Jayla, Brett, Jessica and Maddie; nephews: Camden, Kingston and AJ; nieces: Milianah, Kendall and Grace her k9 companions and best friends, 5 of whom she rescued: Angel, Trouble, Hank, Brunson, Mozzie, Opa and Recon.
A memorial service will be held at Sosebee Mortuary Iva Chapel on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 3pm with Katrina Stone officiating.
The family will be at the home of her sister Selena, at 118 Meadow Hills Dr, Anderson, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Victims Advocacy.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory Iva Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
