Martin R. Ash, 76, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday July 8, 2014 at his home.
Born in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Adair Pyatt Ash and husband to Janice Avadeen Ash.
Mr. Ash was retired from the United Methodist Church as well as the US Air Force, where he served over 43 years of active and reserve duty.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Dwight and wife Ivy, Roy and wife Kim and Daniel R. Ash, Brothers; Ike, David and Johnny Ash, as well as seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday July 11, 2014 at the Freedom Center Church and will be officiated by Rev. Phil Sears. Burial will follow at the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Thursday July 10, 2014 at the Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel.
The family will be at the home.
The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
