Mary Lou Sherman, 80, of Anderson, SC passed away on Sunday February 11, 2024, at her residence.
Born on November 14, 1943, in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Donnie Napoleon Strickland and Reba Mae Strickland. She was the widow of Wilton Leon Sherman. Mary Lou was humble and down to earth; she never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. She enjoyed watching Nascar and baseball.
She is survived by her sons: James Allen Christopher Maners and Larry Dwayne Maners (Griselda); daughters: Sabrina Chambers and Rebecca Lee (Rodney); brothers: Harry James Strickland and Larry Eugene Strickland (Mickie); Sister: Irene McMurtry; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and spouse, she is predeceased by her daughter: Elizabeth Dove Maners, the father of her children: James Allen Maners and her brothers: Johnny Strickland, Marvin Strickland and Horace Strickland.
Funeral services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel on Thursday February 15, 2024, at 4pm officiated by Pastor David Strickland.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the mortuary from 2pm to 4pm.
The family will be at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Rodney Lee at 111 Lullwater Parkway Anderson, SC 29625.
Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
