Michael Wayne Hamby October 26, 1952 - March 7, 2023

Michael Wayne Hamby, 70, of Anderson, SC, husband of Kathy Gentry Hamby, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his residence.

Born in Anderson, SC on October 26, 1952; he was the son of the late Andrew and Hailey Byrum Hamby.  He was a veteran of US Army.

Michael was a very loving man, as only God could make him. He showed this love by the pride he demonstrated for his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children:  Jessica Hamby (David Porter), Shawne Allen (Brett), and Jennifer Allen; brother, Terry Neal Hamby; sisters:  Helen Knight and Linda Dutton; seven grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents; he is also predeceased by his brothers:  Harold, Johnny, Boyce, Kenneth, Larry, and Gerald Hamby; and sisters:  Frances Carver and Shelby McAlister.

Services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 with Military Honors at Sosebee Mortuary, South Chapel at 3pm officiated by Rev. Sam Duncan.  A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday at the Mortuary from 1pm – 3pm.

Burial at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery will be held at a later date.

The family will be at the residence.

Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory, South Chapel, is assisting the family.
