Nancy Ladd Hamby, 74, of Starr SC, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

Born in Pendleton SC, on July 25, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Martin and Alice Gaily Ladd. She is predeceased by her husband of 35 years: Edward Alton Hamby.

Nancy was a member of Unity Baptist Church, was a faithful employee of Sav-A-Stop Convenience Store for 26 years, Dollar General for 5 years and was the queen of the Tuesday night Dart Tournaments.

She is survived by her children: Alice Hamby (Warren), Annette Harrison (Michael) and Dakota Hamby, grandson raised in the home; brothers: James, Donald and Tommy Ladd; sisters: Mary Lee Cobb, Faye Willis and Patricia Bramlett; grandchildren: Harley Jordan (Lindsay), Dakota Hamby, Kaylee Allen (Johnathan), Eric Harrison and Braden Jordan; great-grandchildren: Grayson Jordan and Colton Stewart with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way and a grandchild at heart: Tyler McElrath (Hayley).

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brothers: Billy and Calvin Ladd.

Funeral services will be held at Sosebee Mortuary South Chapel on Monday, December 19, 2022, at 2:30pm with Pastor David Pickens officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at the South Chapel on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

The family will be at the residence.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

    I was sorry to see Nancy had passed I would always talk to her she knew our family. I was missing her at dollar general.
